Section on the Current Situation and Moving the Conference Statement

Andrew Murray of the Stop the War Coaltion and Kate Hudson, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), moderated this opening session. Murray introduced Tony Benn (pictured at right), former Labour MP and cabinet minister, who gave the opening address. Lindsey German, the convener of Stop the War, then moved the conference statement which called for a worldwide demonstration on March 18th. Next, Hudson commenced the speakers' portion of the session.
